Gro-Point™ Soil Moisture System

Product Information

Gro-Point Soil Moisture System

Gro-Point™ Soil Moisture Systems deliver accurate monitoring of soil moisture to help you make better irrigation decisions. Sensors are available in three models depending on soil type and can be installed in any position. These easy-to-use, maintenance free soil moisture sensors are installed in the soil and measure the speed of an electromagnetic wave - the most accurate method of measuring water content in soil. Yields are increased while water usage is optimized and excessive leaching is reduced.

Applications

  • Anywhere soil moisture monitoring is desired.

Product Advantages

  • Responds immediately and accurately to changes in soil moisture.
  • Designed to remain in the soil for the growing season or be installed permanently.
  • Unit is rugged, easy to use and maintenance-free.
  • Utilizes TDT technology (Time Domain Transmissometry) which is similar in operating principle to TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry).
  • Sensor probes are factory calibrated and can operate in all soils and crops.
  • Optimizes water use and reduces excessive leaching, saving fertilizer and energy.
  • Install the Gro-Point sensor in the crop's root zone and read the percentage of soil moisture on the Gro-Point Display Unit, record it on a Datalogger, or IrriWise Wireless Radio Crop Monitoring System.
  • Typical measurement field is 2" in all directions from the outside element.
