Available Register Options

Netafim USA has two types of transducer outputs available which provide two levels of resolution:

REED SWITCH (RS) REGISTER

The reed switch register is a dry contact or simple switch closure for communicating with control and monitoring equipment. Flows are totaled in U.S. Gallons based on the multiplication factors indicated on the dial face.



PHOTO DIODE HIGH FREQUENCY (PDH) REGISTER

A photo coupler sensor that provides a high frequency pulse output for communicating with control and monitoring equipment. Flows are totaled in U.S. Gallons based on the multiplication factors indicated on the dial face.

REED SWITCH (RS) REGISTER SPECIFICATIONS

  • Magnet activated.
  • Acts as a "dry contact", uses very little electric power.
  • For "Volume" related functions such as data recorders or simple counters. (Open collector) for functions such as rate of flow and recording total volume.

Reading a Hydrometer Register

Register Dials 

Standard Register

Total Flow is calculated by adding the readings from the Totalizer and the three fractional dials. The three fractional dials measure quantities smaller than the totalizer reading and are continuously turning while calculating the flow.

Totalizer Reading

Rotates sequentially for each 1000 U.S.G. (U.S. Gallons) calculated Number displayed is multiplied by 1000 to reach total U.S.G.

Fractional Dial 1 (right dial) Each number (1-9) on the dial is multiplied by 100 to reach U.S.G. One complete revolution on this dial = 1000 U.S.G.

Fractional Dial 2 (lower center dial) Each number (1-9) on the dial is multiplied by 10 to reach U.S.G. One complete revolution on this dial = 100 U.S.G.

Fractional Dial 3 (left dial) Each number (1-9) on the dial is multiplied by 1 to reach U.S.G. One complete revolution on this dial = 10 U.S.G.
