Keep Your Irrigation Running Clean.

Disc Filter

Landscape & Turf Applications

The most common cause of drip emitter failure in landscape irrigation is inadequate filtration, especially when the water source contains algae, organic debris, or elevated particulate levels typical of recycled and surface water. AlphaDisc™ disc filtration for landscape and turf drip irrigation is used across every segment.

Landscape & Turf
  • Residential drip systems and home gardens
  • Multi-family and HOA community irrigation
  • Commercial landscapes and corporate campuses
  • Institutional parks and greenways
  • Sports fields and athletic complexes
  • Golf courses (fairways, roughs, and surrounds)
  • Large landscape installations and medians
Water Source Types
  • Surface water (reservoirs, canals, ponds) containing algae and organic matter
  • Well water with light sand (<3 ppm)
  • Municipal recycled / non-potable water
  • Industrial recycled water
  • Systems with or without electricity (gravity-fed)

Product Features & Benefits

Stop Clogged Emitters at the Source

AlphaDisc™'s stacked disc design provides depth filtration through every layer of the element catching particles, algae, and organic debris before they enter your drip lines. Screen filters only stop material at a single surface. Disc filtration stops it throughout the full disc depth.

Automatic Backflush

The industry's highest dirt-holding capacity combined with automatic backflush reducing service calls. Low head loss means fewer backflush cycles under normal operating conditions.

Easily scale as needed

The modular spine platform lets you start with a Single and expand to Dual, Trio, or Alphapollo as project phases are built out.

Why use an AlphaDisc™?

Unlike screen filters that clog quickly under organic load and require manual cleaning, AlphaDisc™ uses a stacked polypropylene disc element that provides depth filtration throughout the entire disc, capturing more debris per cycle with a self-cleaning automatic backflush that never interrupts your irrigation schedule.

From a 3-inch single-unit filter for a residential landscape drip system to a 12-inch Alphapollo configuration for a golf course mainline, every AlphaDisc™ unit shares the same modular spine platform, letting you start small and expand by adding spines as your project grows, without replacing the filter body. AlphaDisc™ is fully compatible with recycled and reclaimed water, surface water from ponds and reservoirs, and well water with light san, the water quality challenges that are most common in commercial landscape and municipal irrigation.

AlphaDisc™, ScreenGuard™, or SandStorm™  Which Filter Is Right for Your System?

Netafim offers all three filtration types because different water sources, system sizes, and maintenance situations call for different solutions. Use this guide to match the filter type to the job.
Consider this when… AlphaDisc™ Disc Filter ScreenGuard™ Screen Filter SandStorm™ Media Filter
Best water source Recycled water, surface water, ponds, canals, algae-heavy sources Well water, groundwater, clean low-particulate sources Surface water with iron, manganese, silt or heavy sediment load
How it filters Depth filtration through every layer of the disc stack Surface filtration through a stainless steel 316 screen element Depth filtration through a sand media bed
Cleaning Automatic self-cleaning backflush. No manual service. Automatic self-cleaning backflush. App-monitored via Netafim SG App. Automatic backwash. Periodic sand media management.
Footprint Compact vertical install. Fits tight vaults. Compact. Vertical, horizontal, or twin configurations. Large tank (30" to 48"). Needs dedicated space or above-ground install.
System scale 3" single up to 12" Alphapollo. Add spines as flow needs grow. 2" to 10". Wide range of sizes to match flow rate. 130 to 350 GPM per vessel. Add vessels to scale.
Expandability Add capacity without replacing the filter body Replace or parallel units to increase flow Add vessels via modular manifold design
Upfront cost Moderate. Phase your investment as the project grows. Moderate. Multiple size options to match budget and flow. Higher. Best justified on large long-term installations.
Ideal for HOA, commercial landscape, sports fields, golf courses, recycled or surface water sites Drip and sprinkler systems on well water or clean potable sources Agricultural SDI, open surface water with iron or manganese, large commercial systems
